Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026. Comprehensive legal agreement governing ticket purchases, event hosting, and door admissions on Bookly.
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Daps Technologies (“Bookly”, “we”, “us”). By accessing the website, buying event tickets, creating events, or scanning passes using the Bookly scanner app, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.
2.1 Ticket Pass & One-Time Entry Rule
A ticket purchased through Bookly grants a single revocable admission license issued by the event organizer. Each QR code is strictly valid for one admission only. The first scan at the door grants entry. Any duplicate presentations (including screenshots shared with multiple people or copied prints) will be rejected at the entrance.
2.2 Anti-Scalping & Commercial Reselling
Tickets are intended for personal use by the buyer and their designated guests. Commercially reselling, scalping, or auctioning Bookly tickets at inflated prices on secondary markets is prohibited and gives the organizer the right to void the ticket without refund.
2.3 Venue Admission & House Policies
Possession of a valid ticket does not guarantee automatic entry if an attendee violates venue policies. The event organizer and venue security retain the right to conduct routine security searches, verify age restrictions, and refuse entry to individuals exhibiting disruptive, intoxicated, or hazardous behavior. Bookly is not responsible for admission denial resulting from attendee violation of venue rules.
2.4 Buyer Refunds & Event Changes
Unless an event is officially canceled or materially postponed by the organizer, ticket purchases on Bookly are non-refundable. If an event is canceled, the event organizer is legally responsible for issuing refunds to all ticket holders.
3.1 Accuracy of Event Listings
Organizers must provide complete and truthful information regarding their events, including accurate dates, times, venues, ticket tier inclusions, and pricing. Misrepresenting event details, headliners, or amenities is strictly prohibited.
3.2 Event Fulfillment & Ticket Honoring
The organizer is solely responsible for organizing, staffing, and hosting the event as advertised. Organizers and their door staff are legally obligated to honor all valid tickets issued through Bookly and scanned at the entrance.
3.3 Strictly Prohibited Events
Bookly strictly forbids hosting fraudulent events, pyramid schemes, unlawful activities, or gatherings that promote violence or hate speech. Listing prohibited events results in immediate deactivation, forfeiture of ticket earnings, and reporting to law enforcement authorities.
3.4 Gate Staff & Mobile Scanner Usage
Organizers are responsible for creating gate accounts for their door staff and ensuring that all entrance bouncers use the official Bookly scanner to scan tickets. Bookly is not liable for entry delays caused by organizer staffing issues or unverified gate personnel.
3.5 Platform Fees & Organizer Payouts
Bookly charges a clear platform service fee per ticket transaction. Net ticket sales are disbursed directly to the organizer's verified Nigerian bank account following event conclusion and settlement clearance. Bookly reserves the right to withhold payouts if an event is canceled, subject to unresolved attendee fraud complaints, or under legal investigation.
3.6 Organizer Refund Obligations
If an organizer cancels, indefinitely postpones, or fails to host an event, the organizer is legally obligated under Nigerian commercial law to refund all ticket buyers in full. Bookly acts solely as the ticketing software provider and does not assume financial liability for unfulfilled organizer events.
4.1 Prohibited System Misuse
Users may not attempt to reverse engineer, generate counterfeit QR codes, run automated purchase bots, or interfere with Bookly's scanner infrastructure. Violators will face immediate account termination and legal action.
4.2 Intellectual Property
Bookly, its branding, software, and scanner applications belong exclusively to Daps Technologies. Organizers retain full ownership of their event flyers, trademarks, and media, granting Bookly a license to display them for ticket sales and promotion.
4.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bookly and Daps Technologies are not liable for physical event occurrences, venue accidents, personal injury, weather conditions, or organizer performance. Bookly provides the software infrastructure to facilitate ticket distribution and scanning.
4.4 Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
