Bookly (operated by Daps Technologies) is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our platform. Whether you are an attendee purchasing a ticket or an organizer hosting an event, we handle your personal information transparently, securely, and in compliance with Nigerian and international data protection laws.

1. Information We Collect

For Ticket Buyers (Attendees)

Your full name (as provided when purchasing tickets).
Your email address (to send your ticket passes, QR codes, and receipts).
The event and ticket tier you selected.
Attendance check-in status (timestamp when your pass is scanned at the venue).

For Event Organizers

Your name, organization name, and account login email.
Your password (safely encrypted, never viewable in plain text).
Bank account payout details (bank name, account number, account name) for ticket earnings.
Event information (event titles, descriptions, venue locations, ticket tiers, dates).
Gate bouncer login accounts created for venue staff.

2. How We Use This Information

For Ticket Buyers: We use your email to send your ticket pass, printable receipt, and essential event updates (such as a venue change or postponement). We provide your name and ticket tier to the event organizer so door staff can check you in at the gate.

For Event Organizers: We use your details to power your event ticketing page, display your live ticket sales and check-in numbers, disburse payouts directly to your bank account, and allow your door staff to validate passes.

For Account Security: We send 6-digit confirmation codes to verify your email when registering an organizer account or performing sensitive actions.

3. Data Sharing Between Organizers and Attendees

We maintain strict boundaries regarding what information is shared between parties:

What Organizers See: Organizers receive attendee names, emails, and ticket tiers solely for the specific events they manage. Organizers are strictly forbidden from selling, renting, or misusing attendee email lists.
What Attendees See: Attendees can only see the public event details provided by the organizer (such as event name, venue, date, and description). The organizer's personal account credentials and bank account numbers are never visible to attendees.

4. We Do Not Sell or Rent Your Data

Our Privacy Promise: Bookly does not sell, rent, monetize, or trade attendee or organizer personal information to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

5. Trusted Service Providers

We only share necessary data with trusted providers who help us operate Bookly:

Licensed Payment Processors: To securely collect ticket payments and disburse organizer payouts under Central Bank of Nigeria regulations.
Secure Cloud Infrastructure: Encrypted hosting providers that store database records and deliver transactional emails (like receipts and 6-digit verification codes).

6. Data Retention & Security

All information sent to and from Bookly is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/SSL. Ticket and payment records are maintained as required by statutory accounting standards. Unused verification codes are automatically expired and purged within minutes.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Both attendees and organizers have rights over their personal data:

Access & Review: You can request a summary of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction: You can update inaccurate account details or contact information.
Account Deletion: Organizers can delete their account directly from their dashboard settings or contact us by email. Upon account deletion, personal profile details are permanently removed.
